Today sees the launch for Falkirk council who are working in partnership with the Women’s Support Project, highlighting the fact that ignoring things like domestic abuse, human trafficking and sexual harassment is tantamount to condoning what can only be described as systematic abuse of women. It broadcasts the Crimestoppers telephone number giving a call to action for anyone who knows of a women being abused in this way to report in. It also directs the audience to the Women’s support project website to educate about the difference sorts of abuse and the organisations that can support the victims.

This week see the launch of a joint campaign with Victim Support and Fortalice to promote the awareness domestic abuse within the Bolton area.

This new campaign is offering a 24 hour helpline via Fortalice to provide services for women and children affected by domestic abuse.

The Thanet Domestic Abuse Forum is launching its bus ticket campaign as part of a wider drive to encourage people to report domestic abuse this summer. The Domestic abuse co-ordinator has stated the following;

‘We have chosen the method of bus tickets as we feel that it provides people with the opportunity to carry essential information discreetly and safely until they are able to approach our services. We hope to be able to reach more people than ever before and ensure that the residents of Thanet have a safer summer, free from abuse, fear and violence.’
