‘ I’m happy to report that we had a good response from using the bus ticket advertising during our Waste Watchers Challenge campaign.  Given the positive outcome of the ticket ad, I have had to review my initial view that its small size would not attract much attention.  Though small, it appears to be deceptively effective at prompting commuters to act on the information provided.  We would certainly consider taking more ticket advertising for future campaigns because of the impact registered with the current campaign.’

The ticket slogan includes the pun on waste and weight with the phrase “Help keep Wheelie nice and slim” juxtaposed with key facts about the nature of wasteful behaviour highlighting that an “average Scottish household throws away £430 worth of food every year. The lively design will be distributed on the reverse of bus tickets in the local area providing both telephone and web contact details for passengers to access further information on the subject matter.
