There are six million full time carers in the UK and recent research suggests that 51% of them have at some point felt like walking away from their responsibility, and many of them could have done without the support of organisations such as Crossroads Care. Three quarters of the nations carers care for a loved one suffering from an illness or disability.  This is rarely a short term commitment which is why the support offered by Crossroads is so important.  They represent a national network of local charities employing over 5,000 trained professionals to support the carers and make the duty of care easier.

As a general awareness campaign, due to its wide circulation this is an ideal medium to let the public know that there is support out there and also to raise donations, without which organisations such as Crossroads Care could not survive.
